Our 2019 Fall Festival Applications are now available on our website and at Town Hall. The booth fee is $20 and there is an additional $5 fee if you need electricity. Please call first to check on availability of electricity access.

Please join us for the 2019 Western NC Water Quality Conference and the 2019 Western NC Air Quality Conference. The conferences are held each year through a partnership between the Western Piedmont Council of Governments and the Lenoir-Rhyne University Reese Institute for the Conservation of Natural Resources. Both are free conferences and are also sponsored by the Western Piedmont Water Resources Committee (WRC), the Western Piedmont Stormwater Partnership, the Greater Hickory Metropolitan Plan

The Rutherford College Town Council will be holding a public hearing on June 4th at 7:00 pm to allow public input on the FY 2018/2019 Budget. A draft of the budget and the Town Manager's budget transmittal letter are available for public viewing.

Rutherford College Elementary 1st grade and kidnergarten students visited Town Hall on October 19, 2017. These students got a tour of Town Hall, learned about the history of the Town and got to hold a Council Meeting!

Town Manager, Kenneth Geathers, has prepared a "State of The Town" presentation to inform the public about the progress the Town of Rutherford College has had over the past few years. Moving forward, Mr. Geathers will issue a "State of The Town" each fiscal year.

The Community Meeting held on June 19th brought together many ideas and we have updated the survey to narrow down the options of how to proceed with the land located behind Town Hall. Thank you for your input! The property is heavily wooded, a perfect spot for walking and bicycle trails. We need your input so we can tailor this project to meet your needs. Let's utilize this beautiful area and make the Town of Rutherford College a great place to live, work, and play. All responses are confident

Our Burke County Spay & Neuter Initiative has officially gone live! In a proactive effort to further community outreach efforts and tackle our euthanasia rates, we have launched an educational community initiative and will be systematically releasing a series of videos, tools and educational information to help our residents understand the impact that spaying & neutering has on a community as well as connect them with low/no cost spay & neuter resources.

Greenway Public Transportation, Western Piedmont Council of Governments and the Community Foundation of Burke County, along with other area partners, are currently exploring the possibility of developing an experimental circulator bus route in Burke County. The proposed route would connect the City of Morganton with Blue Ridge Healthcare - Valdese as well as other towns along US 70 including Drexel, Valdese, Rutherford College and Connelly Springs.

What a wonderful parade and Town Hall Christmas this year! Thank you to all the participants of our parade and everyone who came out to watch them! We were also very pleased to have so many families come inside the Town Hall after for time with Santa as well as cookies, hot cocoa and handmade ornaments. Check out all the great photos.

The 2016/2017 Rutherford College Budget Proposal has been submitted to the Town Council for review. A public hearing will take place at 7:00 pm on June 6th in the Council Chambers at Town Hall. Public is encouraged to attend. The Town Staff and Council will be present to address any questions that you may have regarding the 2016/2017 Budget.
